I loved the effects of the fog – it is an unusual site to see and was very happy to get the photographs I did that day.

I painted this from a photograph I took on the Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, NY at sunset. I loved the reflection on the Walkway railing and the way the sun reflected in the water against the dark mountains and foreground.

Bannerman’s Castle

I painted this on location at Bannerman Island for a “paintout” to benefit the Bannerman trust. To do this painting on location, I traveled their by boat with a group of artists, walked up the steep stairs with all of my art supplies and set up my portable easel to paint this scene. Painting was sold at the auction held at the Bannerman Gallery.

I painted this from a photograph I took while hiking up Breakneck Ridge in the Hudson River Highlands area of New York. This is an amazing hike with the best views in the Hudson Highland region – it is rated Very Difficult because you have to scramble up rocks in part of the hike, and it is very steep. But when I got to the top I felt fantastic and getting the photographs from there was priceless to me and my motivation for doing the hike.
